This Page is just a brief summarization of the Beliefs of the Litza family. In
time a further listing will be published on Mike's. All quotations are from the KJV.
For those not listed generally our beliefs are those of the Historical Fundamental
Baptists.
- God - we believe in the personal triune God: Father, Son, Holy Ghost, equal in divine
perfection. 1John 5:7-8
- Jesus Christ - we believe in the virgin birth and sinless humanity, deity, and that the
suffering and death of Jesus was substituionary for all mankind and is efficacious only to
those who believe on His name. Is. 53:6; 1Pet 2:22+24; Heb. 2:9;John 10:30, 1:1;
1John 2:2; 2Cor. 5:19; Matt. 1:18-20
- Holy Spirit - we believe He is equal with the Father and Son in deity. Is the
divine administrator for Jesus Christ in His Churches. Luke 24:49; John 14:16-17;
Acts 1:4,5+8; Acts 2:1-4
- Salvation - We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, through the
mediatorial offices of the Son of God, who, by the appointment of the Father, freely took
upon Him our nature; that being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary,
yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, risen from the
dead, He is now enthroned in Heaven, and united in His wonderful person the tenderest
sympathies, with divine compassionate, and an all sufficient Savior. Eph. 2:8+9; Hebrews
7:25; John 3:16; Isaiah 53:4-5
- Fall of Man -We believe that man was created in the image of God and lived in innocence
until he fell by voluntary transgression from his sinless state, the result being that all
mankind are sinners. Gen. 1:26, 3:6-24; Rom. 5:12+19
- Creation - We believe in the Genesis account of creation and that Gen. 1-3 is literal
and 'days' in Genesis 1 mean a literal 24 hour day like we have now. Gen 1-3
- Church + Officers - We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of
baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel,
observing the ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws. and exercising the gifts,
rights, and privileges invested in them, by His Word; that its only scriptural officers
are bishops, or pastors, and deacons; that in the matters of administration and policy, it
is self-governing. Matt. 28:20; 1Cor. 11:2; 1Tim. 3; 1Cor. 1:1-13; Acts 2:41+42
- Pre-Millillenialism - We believe the Lord Jesus when He said "I will come
again." It is our conviction that the Lord may come at any moment and receive
His own. His coming for the saints precedes the tribulation, after which He comes
with His saints to reign for a thousand years. Undergirding our evangelistic zeal
and high interest in missions, is our faith in the Lord's return. 1Thess. 4:13-17;
Rev. 4:1; Rev. 20
- Baptism and the Lord's Supper - we believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in
water of a believer, in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, to show forth in a
solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Saviour, with
its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. We believe that the
Lord's Supper, in which baptized believers, by the sacred use of the bread and wine are to
commemorate together the dying love of Christ, is to preceded always by solemn
self-examination. In no way is the bread or the wine changed in any manner by any
kind of human blessing. It is a representation and not a re-sacrifice.
Matt.28:19; Acts 2:41-42; 1Cor. 11:28; Romans 6:4
- Satan - we believe Satan is a fallen Angel, the arch enemy of God and thereby of the
believer. The unholy god of this world whose destiny is the eternal lake of fire
which was created for him. Ezek. 28:11-19; Is. 14:12-15; Rev. 20:10; Matt. 25:41; 2Cor.
4:4
- Bible - we believe in the infallible, verbal inspiration, and complete preservation of
the whole Bible and that the Bible is the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice. Ps.
119:160; 2Tim. 3:16+17; 2Pet. 1:20+21; Ps. 12:6+7; Is. 50:8; Luke 4:4
